Rotary Club of Rye and Winchelsea Walk for Rye Harbour Sailability
Community Walk – Sunday 16 May 2021
Join us for the Great Escape by way of a Community Walk between Rye and Winchelsea. Taking in the path out from Rye towards Winchelsea Station Road, using Float lane, part of the 1066 Country Walk and passing Cadborough Cliff for the return to Rye.
With lockdown being gradually relaxed why not join us for a Sunday walk, before we all get busy again, so please . why not get out and about and stretch those legs. The walk is approx. 8 miles with an option to turn back early at about 4 miles – help keep your body and mind fit and it’s an opportunity to raise money for charity too. Take part as an individual or as part of a team or family group, or just tag along with other walkers.
The walk is not a race – you go entirely at your own pace.
When does it take place? – You can start walking at any time from 9am to 11am on Sunday 16 May, starting from Channon’s Country Store, Rye Cattle Market, Rye, TN31 7AN.
How do I enter? – Just download and fill out the form below and bring it with you on the day, or register by email at ryerotary@gmx.com
Covid19—This year we will not be able to provide refreshments along the way so please ensure you take supplies and water with you. Walk in small groups of no more than 6 people unless family members. Please respect Social Distancing rules at all times and make sure you have fun on the day.
How much does it cost? – We ask for a donation of £10 (adults) and £5 (Under 16), payable on the day. If you’re also raising money by sponsorship then this year, then 100% of the sponsorship raised will go to your chosen charity. Just ask your sponsors to fill out one of our sponsorship forms. Email or ask us for more sponsorship forms if you need them.
Which charities benefit? – All of the funds you collect will go to deserving local charities such as the Rye Food Bank, Rye Community Transport and The Friends of Rye Wurlitzer to name just a few.
